1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us when you:

• Place an order (name, shipping address, email, phone, payment information)
• Submit our contact form (name, email, message)
• Subscribe to our mailing list (email address)
• Create an account or pre-order (email, password hash)
• Use the MEND Guardian App connected to AirGuard™ (see Section 5)

We also collect certain information automatically when you visit our website, including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring URL, and the date and time of your visit.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Process and fulfill orders and send order confirmations and shipping updates
• Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
• Send promotional communications if you've opted in (you can opt out at any time)
• Improve our website, products, and services
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Cookies & Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use our website. Google Analytics uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to collect anonymized usage data including pages visited, session duration, and traffic sources. This data is processed by Google in accordance with their Privacy Policy.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We do not use tracking cookies for advertising or third-party retargeting purposes.

4. Sharing Your Information

We share your information only with:

• Payment processors (e.g., Stripe) to complete transactions securely. We never store full card numbers.
• Shipping carriers (UPS, USPS, FedEx) to fulfill and track your orders.
• Email service providers (e.g., Resend) to send transactional emails.
• Analytics providers (Google Analytics) as described in Section 3.
• Legal authorities when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

All third-party service providers are contractually required to protect your data and may only use it for the services they provide to us.

5. AirGuard™ Health & Location Data

The MEND AirGuard™ safety collar and associated MEND Guardian App collect sensitive data including:

• Motion data: accelerometer and gyroscope readings used for fall detection. This data is processed on-device and not stored on our servers except as anonymized aggregate data for model improvement.
• Location data: GPS coordinates sent to emergency contacts upon fall detection. Location is transmitted only at the moment of deployment — we do not track your location continuously.
• Fall event logs: timestamped records of deployments stored securely in your account and accessible only by you and designated emergency contacts.

We do not sell AirGuard™ health or location data to any third party. De-identified motion data may be used to improve the FallSense™ detection algorithm. You may request deletion of all AirGuard™ data at any time by contacting us.

6. Data Retention

We retain your order information for 7 years as required for tax and legal compliance. Account information is retained until you request deletion. Email marketing preferences are retained until you unsubscribe. Contact form messages are retained for 2 years.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Opt out of marketing communications at any time
• Data portability (receive your data in a machine-readable format)
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (for EU/UK residents)

8. Children's Privacy

Our website and products are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including TLS/HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, encrypted storage for sensitive data, and access controls limiting who within our organization can access your personal information. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure — we cannot guarantee absolute security but are committed to protecting your data.
